Status lights of your Spypoint cameras are your best friend when you’re in the hunting spot. It’s a small detail that tells you a lot about your camera’s performance & whether it’s connected, sending photos or having any issues.
Status lights of Link Micro cameras
If you own a Spypoint Link Micro camera, you’ll notice the light cycling Red to Orange to Green at the startup. That’s your camera searching for the right signal.
- Red = No Signal found
- Orange = Fair signal found
- Green = Strong signal found

When your camera takes a photo, the light will flash Green and then turn Orange during transmission, before shutting off again. Also, there are few light patterns that will give you Warning signs to make sure you can take some preventive actions.
What are the Warning signs?
Following status lights pattern will let you know as the camera is facing some troubleshooting issues.
Situation 1: A blinking red light before shutting the camera down = It represents SIM card or modem issue
Solution: Call Spypoint Help line ASAP.
Situation 2: A very fast orange blink = Battery problems
Solution: Seems like the camera is facing Battery problems like low, mismatched or not set correctly in the Spypoint app. Change it through the Settings in the app.
Situation 3: A slow green blink that is not stopping = Battery drain
Solution: The camera might have some hardware issues or battery drainage problem. For this, change your batteries and then restart the camera. If still the same, contact Spypoint help line ASAP.
Status lights of Cell Link
For any Cell Link, the process is a bit different than the Link Micro cameras. At startup, the status light glows GREEN while the signal lights blink till a stable connection is found. Once found, the lights turn solid, then shut off after 30 seconds. Also,
- If the device is processing or transmitting, status lights stays on.
- During firmware updates, it will blink green and never power it OFF during this time.

Answer: It usually means there’s a SIM card issue or modem malfunction inside the camera.

Answer: This is a mostly a battery issue & recommendation is to check as you are using the correct type & they’re properly installed.
Solution: Use Lithium batteries (non-rechargeable) or Spypoint LIT-10 battery if possible for longer battery life
Q3: What should I check if my camera won’t connect?
Answer: Check if the SIM card is seated correctly, the antenna is tightened and you’re in the area with coverage.
Solution: Power cycle the camera with fresh batteries, SIM card seated correctly, antenna tight enough and SD card is in good shape.
